Lifeworth is coordinating an EU funded study on how
organisations work in networks to influence public policies on social and
environmental issues. A report on Civic Network Excellence will be released in
mid 2008. A UN report of this work on how NGOs work in
networks to influence public policy on global inequalites will be
published in early
2009.
Facebook,
Myspace... Networks are everywhere. NGOs and business increasingly work in
networks to achieve their goals. As do social activists. All network across the
world and seek to influence activites and governance. Meanwhile nearly every
organisation is now "in partnership" with another.
What is the theory? What is the
reality? How do you know when to network,
when to partner, and how to get the most out
of these innovative relations?
